Hey class! Since I am away enjoying the bright lights of NYC, this is your chance to blog about anything relating to these chapters of the novel. Be creative, tell me your feeling and ideas, and make sure it is at least 8 sentences long!!!!
Hope your having a great time! Don't worry about me, I'm not! Just Kiddin haha. The first thing I related too in these chapters was when Scout thought her Dad couldn't do anything because he was old because he was old. I used to feel the same but then realized that he is good at many things and shared talent in these things sometimes. The other thing I related too was when the dog was shot it reminded me of when we had to put down our dog. Her name was Maggie and she was a pure bred German Shepard. I was really sad when she had to be put down because I had grown up with her. It also mad me sad because she suffered her last two days and I didn't want to see her like that anymore.
I wasnt here on thursday thats why my blog is late.
When i was reading the book the dog stuck out at me because when i was younger my friend had a dog that was sick and they had to put it down. Once atticus shot the dog i thought it was weird how that made Scout proud of her dad and thought he could do anything. Even though mrs. dobuse was rude to the kids about their dad i think it was un-necessary to rip up her flowers. It was good that when jem had to read to her that he helped her with her morphine addiction. It was a good experince for Jem and he probebly feels good about himself for helping her. When they went to the black church i thought that it would be a good experince. Also they seen that they were helping helen and her family by donating to them.
hey blog about anything..cool. I have something in common with scout i guess becuase i nver really thought my dad could do anything either when i was young. He never played baseball with us, he never played football with us and i had never seen him do anything but work.what i found out though was that while my dad "couldnt do anything now", he had once been very different. something i found out about my father was he knew how to have a good time, which, no offense, most old ppl dont. They just sit aroiiund and talk.
also it was not tthe greatest thing for jem to rip up mrs dubose flowers, but hey, he got punished for it. I later found out there was a really good reason for this, ie: he was helping her kick her addiction.
the whole black church thing was really different and probably a shocker for jem and scout, seeing how they still had church just as well as white people. It must have been a culture sh ock as yto the way they conducted the church however.
